AVON LAKE, OHIO, – Jeremy Cares Inc., an Avon Lake, OH, based non-profit will receive the $25,000.00 State Farm 2019 Neighborhood Assist Grant to create moments of joy for local families going through a medical crises.
“We are beyond grateful to State Farm and to all of our supporters who supported us in the online voting contest for ten straight days and cast their votes,” states Mary Kellick, vice president of Jeremy Cares. “Our founding philosophy is about paying it forward and we can not wait to do just that!”
Two thousand cause submissions were accepted in June at www.neighborhoodassist.com. The State Farm Review Committee selected the Top 200 finalists and public voting determined the Top 40. In the eight years of the program, more than 300 causes have received a total of $8 million to enact change in their communities. In just 10 days in August, 163,000 people cast 4.4 Million votes in support of their favorite causes.
Jeremy Cares Inc., plans to use these funds for their Holiday Program. Since Jeremy Cares’ inception, they have provided support for over 200 families who are experiencing a life-threatening medical crisis with a child during the Holiday Season, delivering gifts and visiting with families at the local hospitals and in their homes. Jeremy Cares also sponsors a Holiday Party for adolescent, young adult survivors of cancer at University Hospitals of Cleveland. “At Jeremy Cares, we believe a little caring can go a long way in creating hope,” -continued Mary Kellick, “this generous grant will allow us to expand our holiday services and impact more families in an effort to create more smiles and more moments of joy.”
State Farm will be presenting the check to Jeremy Cares on October 10, 2019, at 6pm, at a celebration at Rivals Bar & Grille in Middleburg Heights. The organization encourages all friends and supporters to join the celebration.
